Russell M. Hite

Russell M. Hite, 60, of Goshen, died suddenly Sunday morning, December 4, 2005, at his home.   He was born May 31, 1945, in Goshen, to the late Harry O. and Lucille (Graff) Hite.  In November 1986, in Goshen, he married Diana Richards.  She survives.   Mr. Hite was owner and operator of Herbs & More in Elkhart/Goshen since 1999.  He served as Vice President at First National Bank, Goshen for 20 years.  He had also worked as a purchasing agent for Schrock Manufacturing and Action Design, both of Elkhart.   He graduated from Goshen High School in 1963, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California.  In 2003 he graduated from Trinity College, Warsaw with a Doctorate in Naturopathy.   Mr. Hite was an enthusiastic fisherman of local lakes and waters.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with them in the United States.   He is survived by his wife, Diana; a daughter, Stephanie A. (Lawrence) Gein of Granger, Indiana; two sons, Steven A. (Cara) Hite of Syracuse and Stuart A. (Dana) of Goshen; a step-son, Chadd W. (Julie) Grimm of Shipshewana; and ten grandchildren.  He is also survived by two brothers, Larry O, Hite of Syracuse and Stanley A. (Diana M.) Hite of Goshen.   Friends may call 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at the funeral home.  Rev. Daniel Haifley, Grace Bible Baptist Church, Syracuse, will officiate.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, with Military Graveside Services performed by the Goshen Veterans’ Organizations.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Bible Baptist Church.
