Russell O. Briggs

Russell O. Briggs, 66, of Cromwell, formerly of Parrish, Florida, died unexpectedly Monday, August 4, after a fall at home. He was born Feb. 7, 1948 in Freeport Long Island, New York to Clyde and Jeanne (Lauritzen) Briggs. On May 29, 1993 he married Tonya Wilson in Miami, Florida. She survives along with two sons, Eric (Ellen) Briggs of Jupiter, Florida, and Jason Briggs of Miami; three step-sons, Craig Miller of Indianapolis, Jeff Miller of Augusta, Georgia, and Jason Miller of Bradenton, Florida; seven grandchildren and a brother, Keith (Judy) Briggs of Miami. He was a graduate of State University New York, Maritime College, New York City. He worked as a mechanical engineer at the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, retiring after 15 years as an asset manager for MEAG. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2014, a half hour prior to the 11 a.m., memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Indiana.
