Russel Monroe Sowers

Russel Monroe Sowers, 71, of New Paris, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at Courtyard Healthcare.

He was born November 27, 1949 in Goshen.

Russel is survived by his mother, Jeanette (Wortinger) Peartree of Livonia, Michigan; two children, Aaron (Quincy) Mcleod and Russel Wade (Crystal) Sowers, both of Goshen; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Lynette (James) Mays of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Diane Perkins of South Charleston, West Virginia and a brother, Russel W. Sowers of Monticello.

He loved his family and his dog, Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russel Sowers, Jr. and a sister, Bernice Rogers.

A graduate of Goshen High School, he served four years with the Marines in Vietnam.  He was a member of the DAV and the VFW.  He enjoyed woodworking and was very enthusiastic about gardening.

No public services are planned at this time.
