Ruby D. Stout, 80, of Goshen, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born August 13, 1934 in Goshen to Francis and Mary (Sapen) Chapman. On Septempber 28, 1951 she married Tommy H. Stout in Goshen. She leaves behind two daughters, Kathy L. (Dave) Weitz of Boise, Idaho and Rebecca Mills of Goshen; two sons, Mark H. (Janet) Stout of Denver, Colorado and Phillip (Carol) Stout of Jackson, Michigan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Simmons of Goshen; and a step-brother, Stan (Rose) Chapman of Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Benjamin Lee Stout and a step-sister, Stella Gonzales. Mrs. Stout came to faith in Christ at the age of eight and spent most of her life in the Church of the Nazarene. She was an outstanding Bible teacher and ministered to children and adults as a Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader. She especially enjoyed teaching and leading women through Bible Study Fellowship. She was an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother and influenced countless people. Friends may call Sunday, August 9, 2015, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, with the memorial service following at 2 p.m. Her son, Rev. Phillip Stout, First Church of the Nazarene, Jackson, Mich. will officiate. On Monday, August 10, 2015, a family service and burial will take place in Ossian. Memorial contributions may be given to World Missionary Press, New Paris.
