Ruby C. Charles, 65, of New Paris, died early Tuesday morning, December 13, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital after a short illness. She was born March 26, 1946 in Yoder, Kansas to the late Emanuel and Susan (Hershberger) Chupp. She married John D. "John Boy" Charles November 27, 1964, in Clintwood, Virginia. He died December 9, 2006. Surviving are two daughters; Vickie Collins of Goshen and Robin (Kevin) Cox of New Paris; a son, Paul (Fawn) Charles of North Pole, Alaska; a grandson raised by Ruby, Jason Hunter of Tampa, Florida; 11 grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Welch of Goshen; a brother, Melvin (Loretta) Chupp of Kalamazoo, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, James Ryan Hunter, and two granddaughters, Sara and Mya Hunter. Ruby worked 25 years for Goshen Case manufacturing instrument cases. She also worked one year at the Walmart Supercenter, Goshen. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 15, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, funeral service will be held. Pastor Lenny Krebs of Benton Free Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
