Ruby M. Berkey                                                                                         Ruby M. Berkey, 89, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, February 24, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born in Goshen, on November 17, 1918, to Floyd and Nellie (Doty) Swinehart.  She married Harley Berkey in Goshen on September 15, 1940.  He preceded her on April 2, 1987. A homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Berkey was a member of the Sugar Grove Church in Goshen.  She was involved with Bible classes at Jefferson Elementary School.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She is survived by four daughters, Darlene M (Wayne) Haney of White Pigeon, Michigan, Sandra S. (Dennis) George and Niketa K. Berkey, both of Goshen, and Patti A. Askew of Roanoke, Virginia; two sons, Bert E. (Jacquie) Berkey of Goshen and larry L. Berkey of Bristol; a4 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and a sister, Donabelle Hostetler of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Drake; a sister, Eleanor Eash and a brother, Ray Swinehart. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 27 at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Ed Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
