Ruben “Chino” DeLeon Gonzales, 73, of Milford, died late Saturday evening, April 9, 2011, at his home. He had been ill since fall 2010. He was born July 21, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Enrique “Henry” and Adelina DeLeon Gonzales. He is survived by three daughters, Adelina Newbill of Osceola, Lisa Greenwood and Linda Weiks, both of Fort Wayne; three sons, Anthony Gonzales of Fort Wayne, Robert Gonzales of Oregon and Ruben Salinas of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Carolyn Bennett, Tennessee and Trisha and Terry, both of Syracuse; his caregiver and good friend, Kelly Payne and her daughters, Heatherand Amber, all of Milford. Also surviving are four sisters, Dee Homan and Raquel Dolschenko, both of Elkhart, Yolanda Gonzales of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Lela Garza of Milford; and two brothers, Lupe Gonzales of Indianapolis and José Gonzales of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe in 1970. An area resident since 1968, Mr. Gonzales worked in the RV industry for more than 50 years, most recently for Forest River, retiring in 2009. He served in the US Air Force and was a member of the DAV, Eagles, Moose, American Legion and VFW, all in Goshen. He was a member of the Devil’s Diciples Motorcycle Club for 31 years. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 15 at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Lay Minister Calvin “Ralph” Galloup officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
