Rozella Edna Fahlsing, 95 of Topeka passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 in the Parkview LaGrange Hospital, where she stayed for 10 days after a severe stroke. Prior to that time she was able to live in her own home on Emma Lake, as she wanted. Rozella "Bobbi" Edna Yoder was born on December 28, 1919. She was the eighth and last child born to Menno and Martha (Smith) Yoder. She was born in Emma on the family farm and never lived more than six miles from her birthplace. On February 7, 1948 she married Ernest H. Fahlsing. They were married 57 years before his death in 2005. Rozella held many jobs over the years, most notable as a dental assistant to Dr. Bailey in Topeka and as a "lunch lady" at Topeka and Westview Schools. Rozella was a bright and multi-talented woman. She was an excellent cook, food preserver, seamstress and gardener. She and Ernie refinished furniture, finished all the wood trim at their church, Silverwood Mennonite in Goshen, and made all kinds of amazing items. They volunteered for several years after their retirement as "grandparents" in kindergarten and first grade at Topeka Elementary School. Rozella and Ernie were devoted parents to their two children, Kathy and Roger. They were immensely giving people, always doing for others. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kathy and her husband Dan, and her son, Roger and his wife Leslie. Her loss will also be felt by her granddaughters, Alicia Fahlsing and Shay Wilson, and her great-granddaughter, Kameron Wilson. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Along with her parents and husband, Rozella was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth, Retha, Ruby, Rachel and Ramah; and her brothers, Raphael and Ralph. Rozella loved life, her home, her family and her friends. She made the world a better place, and she will be deeply missed. Friends may call Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a 10 am funeral will be conducted Thursday, October 22, 2015.
