Roy Stanley Plank, 93, went to meet his Lord Wednesday morning, November 18, 2015 at Greencroft Healthcare where he had been the past two years.
He was born January 17, 1922 in Imlay City, Michigan to Ira and Laura (Kanagy) Plank.
On March 20, 1947 he married Mildred Norris in Bremen, Ohio. After her death he married Velma (Nisly) Nisly on December 20, 1975.
She survives along with two daughters, Vera (Herbert) Reed of Greenbelt, Maryland and Roberta Moore of Harrisonburg, Virgina; a son, Stephen (Susan) Plank of Wakefield, Virginia; six step-daughters, Elnora (Eugene) Miller of Goshen, Loretta (Ervin, Jr.) Wengerd of Batesburg, South Carolina, Regina Beiler of Goshen, Sharon (Arlo) Schmidt of Knox, Karen (Ken) Dodd of Flint, Texas and Marilyn (John) Gingerich of Arthur, Illinois; four step-sons, Clayton (Thelma) Nisly of Ecuador, Wilbur (Grace) Nisly of Corvalis, Montana, Marlin (Lucille) Nisly of Victor, Montana and Ronald (Beverly) Nisly of Hutchison, Kansas; 44 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren and a brother, Donald (Norma) Plank of Elida, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a daughter, Beverly Grimm and three brothers, Floyd, Oren and Dwight Plank.
An area resident since 1991, Mr. Plank was a member of the Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church.
He farmed and worked as a typesetter for Cyril Scott in Lancaster, Ohio for 27 years. In his later years he was a driver for the Amish.
Friends may call Friday, November 20, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again 10 to noon on Saturday, November 21, at the Pleasant Grove Church, 13463 C.R. 38, Goshen.
The Saturday, November 21, 2015, funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church. The Pleasant Grove Ministry will officiate.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
