Roxie P. Haroulakis, 78, of Elkhart, passed away in her home on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. She was born January 9, 1935 in Portland to Estel (McFarland) and Stephen "Earl" Hathaway. She married James "Flip" Haroulakis on November 20, 1953 in Mountain Home, Idaho. He survives along with a daughter, DeaneAnn (Lewis) Morse of Goshen; a son, James (Cindy) of Elkhart; a brother, Phillip Hathaway of Elkhart; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Evelyn Wegmer, Naomi Hart, and Virginia Tucker; and three brothers, Arthur, Lewis and Henry Hathaway. Roxie was a proud USAF wife, traveling overseas and across the country with her husband and children during his 20 year Air Force career. She was a member of the Enlisted Wives Club and a former Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She retired from Markley Enterprises, Elkhart, after 30 plus years of employment. She enjoyed reading romance novels, spending time with her family and her best friend Kim Roberts. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Rodriguez for his care and compassion and to Rachael and the entire Center of Hospice Care team for their loving care and family support. Friends may call from 3 until the 5 p.m., funeral service on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Shrock, First Baptist Church, Goshen, will officiate.
