Roxana “Roxy” McGinnis, 85, of Elkhart, died Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2006, at Rosewood Terrace. She was born August 11, 1920, in Tucson, Arizona, to William and Mae (Hartzler) Risdon. On May 1, 1979, in Elkhart, she married Warren “Mac” McGinnis. He survives. A Goshen High School graduate, Mrs. McGinnis, was a member of the Plymouth United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and had worked in housekeeping at Elkhart General Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She is survived by her husband, “Mac”; a son, James L. (Denie) Miltenberger of Sebring, Florida; a step daughter, Linda (Terrance) Appleby of Round Lake, Illinois; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Patricia (Ralph) Dixon of Billings, Montana. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred McMillan. Friends will be received 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 4, at Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart. Her cremains will be buried in Miller Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Plymouth United Church of Christ or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
