Rosemary W. Vorhis, 80, of Goshen, died Friday evening, December 30, 2005, at Linda’s Home Care where she had been a resident since June 2004. She was born September 20, 1925, in Goshen, Indiana, to Harvey and Lydia (Hochstetler) Harshberger. On June 21, 1946, in Goshen, she married Emory O. Vorhis. He died April 25, 1998. Mrs. Vorhis was a member of the West Goshen Church of the Brethren. She was a farm wife, helping her husband operate the family farm for over 50 years. She also worked at IXL and Troyer Poultry. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower beds, cooking family style meals, card games, bowling in Goshen’s women’s leagues and crocheting. She is survived by a daughter Pat (Tom) Mast of Goshen; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Nellie Swoveland, Elsie Straw and Louise Yoder, all of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory, and six brothers, Leo, Marion, Edward, Wilbur, Glen and Harvey Jr., Harshberger. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 2, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m.,Tuesday, January 3, 2006, funeral will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Hershberger will officiate. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana, Care at Home Hospice, or American Heart Association
