Rosemary E. Payne

Rosemary Payne, 83, of Goshen, died at her home late Tuesday morning, August 28, 2012. She was born April 6, 1929, in South Bend to Morris and Alta (Kane) Briggs. She married Leonard Payne, June 29, 1947, in Goshen. He preceded her in death November 10, 2000. She is survived by a son, Steven T. (Susan) Payne of Goshen; three grandchildren, Jon, Jeff, and Jennifer Payne; and a brother, Dale (Penny) Briggs of Goshen. She was preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers. A long time area resident, Mrs. Payne worked as a clerk at the Burger Dairy Convenience Store on US 33 West for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Goshen, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She showed love and concern for her family and friends. Friends may call 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, funeral service will be held. Pastor Louis Showers will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Goshen.
