Rosemary L. Cunningham Nixon, 78, of Goshen, died Wednesday afternoon, January 11, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born July 3, 1933 in Goshen to William and Elizabeth (Delcamp) Hoke. She married Thomas R. Cunningham December 21, 1952 in Goshen. He died December 8, 1988. She then married Raymond A. Nixon. He died June 13, 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" (Mike) Philley of Ligonier; three sons, Robert W. (Debra) Cunningham of Wakarusa, Daniel L. (Joyce) Cunningham of Goshen and Randall R. (Cindy) Cunningham of Columbia City; a step-daughter, Barbara Scalf of Three Oaks, Michigan; three step-sons, Marvin, Wayne and Ray Nixon, Jr. all of LaPorte; 13 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eleanora Magers, Wilma Hoke and Deanna Magers, all of Goshen and Patricia Berkey of Middlebury; and three brothers, Wayne Hoke of Goshen, David Hoke of Elkhart, and Stephen Hoke of Stratford, Ontario. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Hoke. A member of Goshen Evangelical Church, Rosemary worked in the office at Mogul Rubber for 24 years. She later worked as church secretary for Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris. She was a member of the 3rd of July Club. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 15, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2012, funeral service will be held. Pastor Mitch Hile will officiate. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Evangelical Church.
