Rose Marie "Rody" Weaver, 86, of Goshen, died early Saturday morning, October 8, 2011, at Goshen Hospital. She was born September 16, 1925 in Oak Park, Illinois, to the late Charles Clark and Marie (Hoffman) Goodell. She married Harold E. Weaver February 21, 1946, in Goshen. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Elaine (Tom) Evans of Avon, and Anne (Ron) Mullet of Denver, North Carolina; three sons, David (Patricia) Weaver of Hampshire, Illinois, Robert "Mike" (Pamela) Weaver of Goshen, and James "Greg" (life partner, Phinpaseuth "Bay" Sengsommaly) Weaver of South Bend; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia A. Weaver. A resident of Carter Road from the age of seven until moving to Waterford Crossing, Mrs. Weaver graduated from Goshen High School in 1943. Mrs. Weaver was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she served as choir director for 30 years. She planned and directed musicals in addition to teaching music at St. John's Catholic School for eight years. She had also worked as a secretary at Western Rubber. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 10, following a 5:45 p.m. Rosary service, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011, funeral mass will be conducted at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Father Christopher Smith presiding. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Music Fund.
