Rose A. Matousek, 84, of Goshen, died late Wednesday evening, October 17, 2007, at Goshen General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 6, 1923, to Johann and Theresia (Schmidt) Pahr.  She married James V. Matousek on November 1, 1947, in Chicago.  He survives. Mrs. Matousek moved to Goshen 29 years ago from Elmhurst, Illinois.  A homemaker, she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She had worked as coordinator and long time volunteer at the Harvest Basket Food Program for United Labor Agency where she helped coordinate Bingo Fundraising for the United Labor Agency.  Mrs. Matousek also volunteered her time with the Goshen VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid Cubs fan. Friends will be received 2 to 7 p.m., Saturday, October 20, at the funeral home and from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, October 22 at the church. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 22, 2007, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen.  Pastor Laura Meier will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made for Personal Commemorative Bricks to be purchased for Wrigley Field in Rose’s name.
