Rosanne June Garver, 74, of Elkhart passed away Sunday, July 28, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born June 19, 1950, in Elkhart Indiana, to Robert and Miriam (Bucher) Garver.
Rosanne is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Aronson Huebner of Palatine, Illinois; a niece, Crystal Smith, two nephews, Charles Caruthers and Walter Kilmer and two great nephews and two great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lorna McCormick.
A 1968 graduate of Elkhart High School, she went on to study at Manchester University, earning a bachelor’s degree in health education. Further studies included Wabash Vocational Center for motorcycle mechanic and upholstery, Ivy Tech for computer technology and IUSB for Library Science.
She was a 50-year member of Bristol Community Church where she sang in the choir and participated in Bible studies.
Rosanne was very involved in the community volunteering with Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and Bristol Rainbow Girls, Goshen Noon Optimist Club and Optimist International. She was also active in the Elkhart and Logansport Art Associations, the Wabash County Animal Control board, the Indiana Library and American Library Associations, Indiana Historical Society, and Manchester University Alumni Association.
She was a woman with many diverse interests - some of her hobbies included photography, rock and fossil hunting, music – vocal and instrumental, motorcycle riding, flower gardening and sports – including camping, hiking, boating, snow skiing, swimming and bowling.
Visitation will be Friday, August 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bristol Community Church, 201 S. Division Street.
A funeral service will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol.
