Rosalie M. Chandonia

Rosalie M. Chandonia, 96, of Goshen, died Monday, January 7, 2019, at home.

She was born February 2, 1922 in Goshen to Seward O. Nickler and Mary (Hutchison) Nickler Stewart.

On April 23, 1939 she married John J. Knisley.  They divorced in 1971.  In 1975 she married Jon C. Chandonia.  He died August 21, 1990.

Survivors include four children, Sharon Taft of Indianapolis, Donna (Ron) Ward of Des Moines, Iowa, Stephen (Freda) Knisley of Elkhart and David Knisley of Goshen; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and two half-brothers, Eugene Stewart of San Leandro, California and Richard (Cece) Stewart of Florida.

A lifelong Goshen resident, Mrs. Chandonia attended Goshen High School.  She worked at Johnson Controls from 1966 to 1985 and then helped serve lunches at Goshen High School, retiring in 2010.

Mrs. Chandonia was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren; American Legion Auxiliary #30; Johnson Retirees; Garden Club of Goshen and a life member of VFW #985.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 10, 2019, from 3 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the Friday, 11 a.m., funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Norm Replogle will officiate.

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, following lunch.

Memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice.
