Rosalee E. Gingerich, 84, of Elkhart and formerly of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, December 8, 2009, at Woodland Manor in Elkhart.  She had been in declining health the past six years. She was born in Garden City, Missouri, on October 9, 1925, to the late Daniel Ora and Eldora (Byler) Schrock.  She married Eli L. Gingerich on August 14, 1948 in Garden City.  He preceded her in death on November 20, 1998. A Goshen resident for the past six years, Mrs. Gingerich attended College Mennonite Church.  She loved to cook and authored a cookbook.  She enjoyed playing the piano and played for Sunday morning worship service at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She is survived by a daughter, LuAnn (Michael) Stampfler of Portage, Michigan; three sons, Eric (Joann) Gingerich of Oxford, Pennsylvania, Kevin (Kim) Gingerich of Garland, Texas, and Steven (Cathy) Gingerich of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a sister, Bernice Yoder of Hesston, Kansas; and three brothers, Maurice (Virginia) Schrock of Pontiac, Illinois, John Dale (Phyllis) Schrock of Hesston, Kansas, and Coburn (Doris) Schrock of Garden City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Zana Smith; and four brothers, Daniel, Eldon, Clifford and Leonard Schrock. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 10, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. A 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2009, prayer service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with burial to follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. An 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, memorial service will be held at College Mennonite Church with Pastors Klaudia Smucker and Betty Hochstetler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roman Gingerich Athletic Scholarship Fund or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
