Ronald Handrich

Ronald Ray Handrich, 81, of Goshen died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was born March 2, 1939 in Mio, Michigan to Harvey and Ruby (Miller) Handrich.

On December 22, 1959 he married Betty Jean Miller at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan.

She survives along with two sons, Rick (Pam) Handrich of Fairview, Michigan and Mitch Handrich of New Orleans, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Austin and Shelby; a sister, Twila (Boyd) Kaufman and a brother, Darrel Handrich, both of Fairview, Michigan.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Velda Neff and Carol Gerber and a brother, Vernell Handrich.

Mr. Handrich worked as a manager at the Fairview Hardware.  He was an EMT with Oscoda County for 10 years and served with the Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling for many years and belonged to the Mio Radio Control Flyer Club, training a number of flyers.

Mr. Handrich did seven years of combined voluntary service with Mennonite Disaster Service and on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the 12, noon, funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Sherm Kauffman will officiate.

Burial will be Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan. Pastor Steve Gusler will lead the graveside service.

The family requests that social distancing and mask recommendations be followed by those in attendance.

Memorial gifts may be given to Greencroft Foundation.
