Roger L. Tomlonson

June 3, 1945 — July 8, 2008

Roger L. Tomlonson, 63, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, July 8, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital.  He had been seriously ill the past month. He was born in South Bend, Indiana, on June 3, 1945, to Ernest and Aline (Laughlin) Tomlonson.  He married LoVina Miller on January 25, 1969 in LaGrange.  She survives. Mr. Tomlonson had worked at Coachman and Forest River.  He retired in July 2007 from Forest River. He was a lifetime member of the Goshen Eagles; a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed freshwater fishing in our local lakes, playing euchre with his friends at the Eagles and the Winners Circle.  He was an accomplished pool player, and woodworking, especially model railroading. He is survived by his wife, LoVina; a daughter, Stacy D. (Dennis) Smith of Elkhart; a son, Brian L. Tomlonson of Seymour; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two half-brothers, Bobby McKinley of Elkhart and Bill (Venitsi) Reed of Goshen; two step-brothers, Petty (Penny) Reed and Charles (Judy) Reed, Jr., both of Goshen; and a step-sister, Carol (Ted) Yoder of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a half brother, John McKinley. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 11, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Gregg Lanzen of First Baptist Church Goshen will officiate. Burial will be in Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse. Memorial contributions may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
