Roger Wayne Bontrager, 63, of Middlebury, passed away at home Saturday, January 1, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 2, 1958, in Goshen and graduated from Goshen High School in 1977.
He married Cheri Lynn Telschow June 11, 1977, in Nappanee.
He is survived by his wife and three children, Nathaniel (Melissa) Bontrager of Goshen, Anthony (Bethany) Bontrager of Millersburg and Cati Bontrager of Middlebury; seven grandchildren, Sabrina, Connor, Gabriel, Isabelle, Araelynn, Bowen and Liam; and seven siblings, Melvin (Lynne) Bontrager of Goshen, Mahlon (Sandra) Bontrager of Elkhart, Ronald (Cindy) Bontrager, Elna (Mike) Hussey and Richard (Laura) Bontrager, all of Goshen, Mary (Mark) Ellsworth of Mishawaka and Arthur (Ronda) Baer of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin J. Bontrager and Mary Ann (Stump) Baer.
His family was the most important thing to him on this earth. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Jesus was the Lord of his life. He always took time for others and will always be remembered for his giving heart, his playful personality and conscientious work ethic.
Roger worked as maintenance manager for Entech Inc. the past 13 years. Prior to that, he was a bulk milk hauler for 15 years.
Visitation will be at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 2 to 7 p.m. and at River of Life Fellowship Church, 11162 IN 120, Middlebury on Friday, January 7, from 2 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at River of Life Fellowship Church Saturday, January 8 at 10 a.m. with Pastors Gordy Henke and Rick Lambright officiating.
Burial will follow in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
