Rodney “Joe” Speicher, 73, of Goshen passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 21, 2021.
Joe was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Goshen to Vernon “Sam” and Geneva (Bickel) Speicher. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Cripe); a daughter, Heather (Brent) Hoffer of Goshen; grandsons, Ethan and Evan; and a sister, Suzy (Cliff) Thompson of Topeka.
Joe was a lifetime area resident and a 1965 graduate of Millersburg High School. On March 24, 1972 he married Jane and they bought a home in Millersburg, where he worked for Carriage, Inc. for over 25 years.
He was an active member of the community working for the street and water department, serving as the Millersburg Town Marshall, and the Chief of the Clinton Township Fire Department.
Joe enjoyed coaching his daughter’s little league softball team, and being a board member of the Elkhart County 4-H Lamb Club. He was an active member of Zion Community Church where he served as an elder for a number of years. In retirement his greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons, and playing golf with his friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 9:30 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 25, also at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Lewis will officiate.
Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
