Rodney D. Masters

February 17, 1961 — April 30, 2025

Rodney "Rod" Dean Masters passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, after a short diagnosis of heart failure during his courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 17, 1961. Rod grew up with a strong sense of family and a heart full of generosity. He graduated from Westview High School in 1979 and went on to build a life grounded in love, hard work, and devotion to those he cared about.

Rod is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 39 years, Terri, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering partnership. He was a proud and devoted father to Stefanie (Jarad) Miller and Ricky (Jackie) Masters, and a cherished grandfather to Karolyna Miller, Gigi Masters, and Lila Masters. Rod’s love for his family was the cornerstone of his life.

He is also survived by his mother, Abbie Potee; his brothers, Ron (Kelley) Masters and Gary Masters, Jr.; step-sister, Linda Hatfield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rod was preceded in death by his youngest brother Robert Masters, father Gary Masters, Sr.; stepfather, Richard (Dick) Potee; in-laws, Richard and Carol Mann; brother-in-law, Ritchie Mann; and his eldest granddaughter, Maelie Miller, whose memory he carried with deep love.

Rod was known for his generous spirit and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. A devoted father, loyal friend, and kind soul, he brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and IndyCar racing, enjoyed fishing (especially deep-sea fishing), and had a lifelong affection for baseball—pastimes that brought him joy and created countless cherished memories with friends and family.

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at a later date, where loved ones will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and remember the incredible man he was.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

According to Rodney’s wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
