Rodney W. Carpenter, 65, of Goshen, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Center for Hospice Care after a five year battle with cancer.
He was born August 16, 1951 in Shelbyville, Kentucky to Burnett and Edith (Willis) Carpenter.
On June 25, 1977 he married Deborah Darland in Lexington, Kentucky.
She survives along with two children, Ashley (Ryan) Mault of Ocean City, Maryland and Austin (Jennifer) Carpenter of South Bend; four grandchildren, Kaden and Paxton Mault and Addyson and Aryia Carpenter; and four siblings, David (Pam) Carpenter of Frankfort, Kentucky, Jan Turner of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Leesa Carpenter of Lexington, Kentucky and Jeff (Jessica) Carpenter of Louisville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rodney graduated in 1975 from University of Kentucky with a professional engineering degree. He founded, owned and operated Clear Creek & Associates, Inc..
He was a member of River Oaks Community Church and enjoyed fly fishing and golf. In his professional life he traveled to over 100 countries.
His family and faith were a major part of who he was. Rodney was very supportive and giving to others.
Friends may call Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
A 3 p.m., celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, November 26, 2016 at River Oaks Community Church, 58020 C.R. 115, Goshen . Pastor Scott Tilley and Dr. James VanCuren will officiate.
