Roberta Blair Poscharscky, 85, of Goshen, died Thursday evening, January 13, 2011, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing where she had been since December 21. She was born December 4, 1925 in Latham, Tennessee, to the late Robert and Hattie (Griffith) Danner. She is survived by three daughters, Gwen (Michael) Stutzman of Goshen, Mary (Frank) Rupe of Three Rivers, Michigan, and Jackie Miller of Jenison, Michigan; a son, William Adrian Poscharscky of Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd (Mildred) Danner of Gladwin, Michigan. She was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Poscharscky in 1965 and a brother, James Danner in 1978. A Goshen resident since 1952, Mrs. Poscharscky worked at Goshen General Hospital, in admitting for 15 years, until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen, American Legion Auxiliary, New Paris Puzzle Quilters and Maple Leaf Quilters, and a lifetime member of Women of the Moose where she received several honors, including Academy of Friendship, Star Recorder and College of Regent. She enjoyed playing euchre. Friends may call 1 to 6:30 p.m., Sunday, January 16, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 6:30 p.m. Women of the Moose memorial service will be conducted. A 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2011, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral with Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
