Roberta's greatest passions were her family and her art. She had a decades-long love of arts and crafts, beginning with ceramics in the 1970s. Over the years, she was drawn to painting, which proved to be a true passion of hers. Roberta was a member of several local painting guilds over the years, including the Whitewater Painters of South Bend, and the Door Prairie painters from Laporte and Michigan City. She greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of the art guilds and traveled to several national art conventions with fellow guild members. She especially enjoyed painting flowers, barns, and landscapes.
In her latter years, she lovingly created numerous beautiful and unique pieces of art which she gifted to her children and grandchildren, helped to foster the love of painting in her grandson, Tyler, and was thrilled to be able to give unique, hand-crafted Christmas gifts to all of her family. Roberta was also a gifted seamstress, creating scores of ensembles for dolls, small children, and most recently, she used her talents during the pandemic to create numerous masks for a local company, as well as for her children and grandchildren.
