Robert E. Yost, 84, of Goshen, died Thursday morning, March 15, 2012, at Rivercrest Specialty Hospital, Mishawaka, where he had been two and a half weeks. He was born January 24, 1928 in Delphi to Harvey H. and Margaret A. (Stultz) Yost. He married Margaret I. Gustin February 14, 1950 in Leo. She survives, along with two daughters, Mary (Larry) Wiser of Germantown, Ohio and Marcia Yost of Goshen; three grandchildren, Valerie Wiser Martin of Greencastle, Laura Wiser Roberts of Bloomington, Illinois, and Madeline Yost of Goshen; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Toby, Ellie and Maggie. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Donald Yost. A 1945 graduate of Goshen High School and a 75 year Goshen resident, Mr. Yost was a member and former trustee of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Goshen. He was a former member of the Goshen Jaycees and a longtime member of the Elkhart County Exchange Club. He served with the US Army from 1945 to 1947 as a ski and winter survival instructor. He retired in 1993 as Plant Superintendent from Goshen Milk, now Dairy Farm Products, after 26 years of service. He started working at the age of 7 for the family business, City Dairy, Inc. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 3 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012, memorial service at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Goshen. Pastor Richard Rinearson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
