Robert M. Wortinger, 93, of Goshen, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born January 10, 1923 in Goshen to Dewey and Laura (Miller) Wortinger.
On December 6, 1953 he married Doris M. Yoder in Middlebury.
She survives along with two son, Ronald (Cheryl) Wortinger of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Robert (Karen) Wortinger of Verona, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Michelle Janey and Brenda, Jennifer and Nathan Wortinger; 10 great-grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and a sister, Doris Shank of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell Wortinger.
Mr. Wortinger served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
A graduate of Goshen High School and South Bend Business College, he worked in purchasing and management at Bendix, a military missile plant. He also worked at Independent Protection and retired as an accountant from Steury Boat. He was a member of 8th Street Mennonite Church.
Bob was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved sports.
Friends may call Monday, August 1, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the 12, noon funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastors Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau and Julia Gingrich will officiate.
Burial, with military honors, will follow at Violett Cemetery.
