Robert Eugene Stutz, 82, of Goshen, died Saturday evening, July 4, 2009, at Courtyard Healthcare. He had been in failing health since November 2008. He was born March 7, 1927, in Goshen, to Gene and Faye (Sherman) Stutz. He married Aileen Hamilton on September 11, 1948 in South Bend. She survives. A lifetime resident of the area, Mr. Stutz worked at Plumrose for 30 years where he was a delivery and shipping clerk. He was a member of the First Church of God, Goshen, and the Middlebury VFW. Mr. Stutz served two years in the US Army. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard. He is survived by his wife; two son, Ron (Janice) Stutz of Buchanan, Michigan, and Dan Stutz of New Paris; a granddaughter, Kori Stutz of Lakeville, Indiana; a step-grandson, Joshua Callicoat of Elkhart; a great-grandson, Gabriel Stutz; a sister, Virginia (Gene) Calvert of Atlanta, Georgia; and a brother, Dick (Judy) Stutz of Middlebury. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Stutz. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at First Church of God, Goshen. Pastor Troy Scott will officiate. The body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Association or First Church of God.
