Robert H. Sherman

Robert Harold Sherman, 84, died Monday, May 18, 2026 at his home.

He was born August 31, 1941 to Harold and Helen (Rieth) Sherman in Goshen.

He attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Goshen (formerly 1st United Church of Christ) from birth. He joined the church May 10, 1956.

A 1960 graduate of Goshen High School, Robert served in the U.S. Army for two years. He loved all sports, especially Indiana University athletics, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

On Easter Sunday, March 26, 1967, he married Sandra LaBar. She survives along with their four children, Shawna Stutzman, Sharla (Mark) Fradenburg, Shayne (Heather) Sherman and Shawn (Brenna) Sherman; 10 grandchildren, Joshua (Jacqueline) Stutzman, Michael Stutzman, Jonathan (Anastacia) Stutzman, Rylee Stutzman (fiancée Myron Beachy) , Emma Fradenburg, Ella Fradenburg, Madalyn (Robert) Causey, Penelope Sherman, Kyla Sherman (fiancée Kole Bellman) and Kendra Sherman; and four great-grandchildren, Levi, Miles, Ollie and Eleanor.

He is also survived by a brother, Douglas (Connie) Sherman and sister-in-law, Linda Sherman.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Sherman, a brother, James Sherman, son-in-law, Lyle Stutzman and twin grandsons Liam and Leo Sherman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and Wednesday beginning at 12 p.m. prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 27, 2026 also at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.
