Robert N. Schnell

Robert N. Schnell, 95, Goshen, died 10:48 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

He was born February 9, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to William & Evelyn Schnell.

On October 22, 1949, he married Bobbie Jo (Stewart) Schnell. She died March 1, 2025.

Surviving are Jo, three children, Scott Schnell, Peggy (David) Ganger, Michael (Colleen) Schnell, six grandchildren, Kevin (Katie) Ganger, Andrew (Marti) Ganger, Joshua (Ashley) Ganger, Chad (Crystal Gilbert) Schnell, Kristi (Kyle) Galecki, Justin (Chantel) Schnell and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1949. He retired from NIPSCO in 1989 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Goshen. Robert enjoyed traveling with Bobbie, building beautiful furniture for family and friends (a hobby taken up after retirement), and spending time with family and his many friends. Robert never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need.

A graveside service for Robert N. and Bobbie Jo will take place Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Violett Cemetery.
