Robert Elmer Lundberg, 89, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, April 13, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born in Mead, Nebraska, on May 8, 1920, to Albert and Signe (Olson) Lundberg. He married Anna M. Hector on January 26, 1946 in Cadillac, Michigan. She died September 24, 1999. He then married Catherine Hernly Glenn on July 4, 2004. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Charles) Davis of Goshen; two sons, David A. (Linda) Lundberg of St. Charles, Illinois, and Donald R. (Christine) Lundberg of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth (Edwin) Noren of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Paul Lundberg; and a granddaughter, Julia Davis. A member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, South Bend, Mr. Lundberg worked in sales. A veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the Exchange Club of Elkhart County. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft, Goshen. A 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010, memorial service will be held at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen. A second memorial service will be conducted at the Evangelical Covenant Church, South Bend, starting at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22. Pastors Kevin Brintnall of the Evangelical Covenant Church and Kevin Farmwald of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, will officiate. Scattering of cremains will occur at a later date in the Greencroft Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to CAPS, Maple City Health Center or Boys and Girls Club of Goshen.
