Goshen-Robert Edwin LeFevre, 80, died early Saturday, March 31, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital as the result of a fall Friday evening. He was born January 3, 1932 in Sterling, Illinois to Noah and Esther (Landis) LeFevre. He married Carolyn Main August 20, 1961 in Sterling, Illinois. She survives along with three daughters, Marcia Friesen of North Newton, Kansas, Karen (Calvin) Swarztendruber of Goshen, and Jackie Sue LeFevre of Bristol; two sons, Dennis (Jennifer Friesen) and Ronald (Patrice Galbreath) LeFevre, both of Hesston, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Elwin LeFevre of Sterling, Illinois and a sister-in-law, Lois Schmitt LeFevre of Rock Falls, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin LeFevre. A retired farmer, Bob worked 16 years for the American Red Cross delivering blood and blood products to 11 hospitals in northern Illinois. He was a foster parent for 14 children. A member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Bob was a former member of the Science Ridge Mennonite Church and Community Mennonite Fellowship, Sterling, Illinois. Friends may call 5 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where a 7:30 p.m., prayer service will be held with Pastor Terry Diener officiating. Friends may also call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Science Ridge Mennonite Church, 1702 East 37th Street., Sterling, Illinois, where a 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2012, memorial service will be conducted. Burial of cremains will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012, for family and friends at Clinton Frame Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to ADEC or Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for community outreach. In Sterling, memorial contributions may be made to Self Help Enterprises and The Caring Center.
