Robert D. “Bob” Latoski, 62, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, August 17, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital where he had been a patient since August 10. He was born in St. Francis, Kansas on September 28, 1946, to Dale and Margaret Laoski. A Goshen resident for the past 11 years, Mr. Latoski graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1966.  He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was trained in artillery and armor – driving tanks and ammunition trucks during his tour in South Vietnam in 1967-68.  He was captured and held as a POW for three days.  He had worked as a truck driver most of his life, driving tankers of propane, grain trucks and feeder trucks, until his disability in 1995. A first rate mechanic, he enjoyed woodworking freshwater fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, especially roses. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Tally (Thomas) Mathews of Sturgis, Michigan; a son, Brandon R. Latoski of Goshen; a granddaughter, Stacy Griess; a great-granddaughter Kaitlyn West; a sister, Dalene Latoski of Fort Morgan, Colorado; and two brothers, Stan (Kathy) Latoski of Fort Morgan, Colorado, and Leroy (Kay) Gallegos of Central City, Nebraska. Friends may call 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, August 21 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 3:00 p.m., memorial service will be conducted.  Pastor Jim Shrock of First Baptist Church, Goshen will officiate.
