Robert E. Kee, 90, of Goshen died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the home of his daughter.
He was born Oct. 7, 1926 in Parsons, West Virginia to Ile E. and Carrie (Phillips) Kee.
On August 16, 1949 he married Emily L. Fortney in Parsons, West Virginia. She died Aug. 9, 2010.
Survivors include a daughter, Debby (Bob) Headrick, Goshen; a son, Michael (Pam) Kee, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Poffenbarger and Ruth Stalnaker.
Robert served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during WWII in the Philippines. After finishing active duty he continued to serve for one year as a military honors escort for fallen soldiers.
He worked as a district sales manager for Boise Cascade, a large office supply distributor. He was an active Mason in his younger years and always enjoyed watching all types of sporting events.
He remained active following retirement working in the golf course pro-shop while living in Pensacola, Florida. He continued to work at Sam’s Club, Goshen as a butcher well into his 80’s.
According to his wishes there will be no services.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
