Robert D. Hayes

Robert D. Hayes, 85 passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born April 5, 1939 in Racine, Wisconsin to Ralph and Gertrude (Miller) Hayes.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, whom he married August 5, 1961, Mary (Montgomery) Hayes; son, Richard (Kristin) Hayes of Goshen; grandchildren, Zachary (Macalya) Hayes and Kyle Hayes; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray D. (Kathrine) Hayes.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Hayes.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Hayes was a member of local LaGrange and Elkhart County chapters of the Masonic Lodge, V.F.W., Eagles, D.A.V. and American Legion Post 777.

He retired from Supreme Corporation as Head Purchasing Agent and was a landlord for several apartments.

Known for always having a smile and a wave for people he met. “Waving Bob” will be missed by all.

A private graveside service will take place at College Corner Cemetery, Bath, Indiana.
