Robert "Bob" Harrison Detwiler

Robert "Bob" H. Detwiler, 64, of Goshen, passed away Friday morning, November 15, 2013, at Courtyard Healthcare. He had been in declining health. He was born April 14, 1949 in Goshen, to James and Maria (Schrock) Detwiler. He married Sherry (Longenecker) Robinson, November 26, 1976 in Goshen. She survives along with two step-daughters, Sandra (Otis) Davidson of Shipshewana and Brenda Miller of Middlebury; two granddaughters, Kayla Miller and Hannah Davidson; and four sisters, Carol Nails of Elkhart, Jo Ann (Paul) Patrick of Salyersville, Kentucky, Janet Gill of Hampton, Florida, and Pennie Detwiler of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Detwiler. A lifelong resident of Elkhart County, Bob served with the Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Bristol United Methodist Church, 201 S. Division St. Pastor Fred Stayton will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol . Memorial contributions may be given to Bristol United Methodist Church or Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
