Robert J. Hampton

Robert J. Hampton, 79, of Goshen, died early Wednesday morning, April 26, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital.   He was born February 5, 1927, in Evanston, Illinois, to Maurice L. and Nellie (Balch) Hampton.  On August 26, 1950, he married Marjorie A. Vaeth, in Rochester, New York.  She survives.   Mr. Hampton, a Korean War veteran, worked as Vice President of Commercial Loans at the First National Bank of Chicago.   He is a former member of the Syracuse Rotary Club and had served as Secretary of the Wawasee Property Owners Association.   He is survived by a daughter, Joan M. (Stephen) Szynal of Goshen; a son, Scott M. Hampton, Palatine, Illinois, five grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy J. (Robert) Maroney, Walker, Minnesota.   Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, May 1, at the funeral home.   A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2006, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. John Delaney of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will officiate,   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
