Robert Hamood

Robert D. Hamood, 91, of New Paris, died peacefully at home Friday, April, 19, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born July 11, 1932 in Mishawaka to Charles and Sylvia (Roth) Hamood.

On March 9, 1968 he married Barbara Ann Romine. She died November 9, 1993.

Robert is survived by a step-son, Jerry Tyson, Elkhart; three grandchildren, Troy (Teresa) Hogan, Noblesville, Michael (Tasha) Hogan, Goshen and Colby (Isabela) Tyson, Goshen; six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Owen, Drew and Whitley Hogan, and Roman and Olivia Tyson; and a sister, Inez Willings, Edwardsburg, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Allen Hamood; and a step-daughter, Joyce Hogan Solano; and five siblings.

Robert served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 and was a member of New Paris Missionary Church. He worked as a group leader at Johnson Controls for many years.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, April 24 at New Paris Missionary Church.

Burial with military honors will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
