Robert L. Haack, 87, of Goshen died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Courtyard Healthcare following a brief illness.
He was born March 21, 1928 in Pomeroy, Iowa to Herman Henry and Marie M. (Gutz) Haack.
On January 31, 1956 he married Marion June Gerischer in Fairmont, Minnesota. She died in 1985. He later married Kenlyn “Woody” Sorg on February 14, 1987 in Warsaw.
She survives along with a daughter, Kathryn Haack (Randy) Maddox of Woodland; three step-daughters, Kathy (Ken) Coffman of Goshen, Tammy (Craig) Lambright of Charleston, South Carolina and Susan Warstler of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Craig and Dustin Coffman, Kelly Morales, Tyler Lambright, Brittney Eichorn, Neal and Nikki Warstler; four great grandchildren, Anna and Lilly Coffman, Pablito Morales and Josiah Eichorn; three brothers, Charles (Donna) Haack of Pomeroy, Iowa, Leslie (Therese) Haack of Plymouth and Lee (Elaine) Haack of Brandon, South Dakota; and three sisters, Marcella Desormey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carol Ford of Pomeroy, Iowa and Judy (Jim) Binzen of Thomson, Illinois.
Along with his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth, a brother, Donald Haack and a sister, Luella Hammen.
A graduate of Iowa State University, Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1946-1949. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pomeroy, Iowa and was a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bremen.
From 1971-1988 he worked as a salesperson of animal health products for American Cyanamid.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. and Monday, February 29, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate.
Burial will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont, Minnesota.
Memorial contributions may be directed the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
