Robert "Bob" D. Garver, 91, of Bristol, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at East Lake Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart. He was born September 26, 1923 in Bristol to Cecil and Bessie (Wagley) Garver. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Miriam J. (Bucher) Garver; two daughters, Rosanne J. Garver of Bristol and Christine J. (Aronson) Huebner of Palantine, Illinois; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gale Garver. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lorna J. McCormick and two sisters, Irma Gardner and Irene Elliot. A lifetime area resident, Bob farmed for many years. He was also an active woodworker, doing both construction and wood carving, much of it volunteer work for church construction and Habitat for Humanity homes. A good Christian man, Mr. Garver was an active, lifetime member of the Bristol United Methodist Church, a church built by his grandfather and father. Friends may call Sunday, November 23, 2014, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, funeral service will be conducted at Bristol United Methodist Church. Pastor Fred Stayton will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
