Robert E. Davis, 86, of Goshen passed away Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016 at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born November 30, 1929 in Winchester to Orla Davis and Estrella (Lake) Davis Simmons.
On January 24, 1948 he married Geraldine Adams of Eubank, Kentucky in Winchester. She passed away April 26, 2012.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Davis of Yorktown, Teresa S. (Jimbo) Paquet of Washington, Pennsylvania, and Patricia A. Hobberchalk of Knightdale, North Carolina; three sons, John P. (Ann) Davis of Chattanooga, Tennessee, James N. (Sharon) Davis of Elkhart and Terry L. (Diana) Davis of South Lyon, Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Loland and John Davis, and two sisters, Mary Olive Keys and Alice Suratt.
Mr. Davis was a graduate of Winchester High School in Winchester. He had an innate talent for research and development which he used as a design engineer for Ball Corporation, acquiring several multi-national patents related to glass bottle design.
Robert was a lifetime member of the Disciples of Christ Church. He enjoyed free hand art and woodcarving.
Friends may call Saturday, June 11, 2016 beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Estep of First Brethren Church, New Paris, will officiate.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
