Robert "Dale" Miller

June 10, 1930 — May 12, 2024

Robert “Dale” Miller passed on to the life that is the real life at 8:30 p.m., Sunday May 12, 2024.  Dale was born to David and Fannie Miller on June 10, 1930, in Goshen, as the youngest of seven children.  Dale married Rosalie (Yoder) Miller on June 19, 1954, in Middlebury where they settled and raised their family.

Dale was a faithful follower of Christ and was an involved member at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen.  Dale enjoyed singing in the church choir and was especially fond of old country gospel music.  Dale served on mission trips in Brazil, Mexico and in Biloxi, MS after Hurricane Katrina offering his workmanship talents as there was nothing he couldn’t fix or figure out.

Dale drove bus and worked for Shoup/Cardinal Bus in Middlebury for over 50 years.  He enjoyed serving others and helped transport students, church groups and others throughout the United States through his decades of safe travel.

Dale leaves behind his wife of 69 years as well as two daughters, Deb (Richard) Armington, of Mishawaka, and Penny (Steve) Martin, of Warsaw; six grandchildren, Danielle (Kevin) Trulock, of Zionsville, Brock (Laura) Armington, of Castle Rock, Colorado, Arick Armington, of South Bend, Taylor (Brady) Weaver, of Elkhart, Petty Officer Second Class Neil Martin stationed on the USS Shoup, of Yokosuka, Japan, and Tara Martin, of Mishawaka;  and ten great-grandchildren, Hattie, Eliza, August, Sawyer, Delilah, Archer, Wells, Forrest, Daisy and Millie.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Delton, Thomas, and Max, and three sisters, Naomi Hostetler, and two in childhood, Amy, and Martha.

A memorial service will be held at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church on June 2 at 2 p.m.  There will be a private graveside service for the family.  Yoder-Culp is handling the arrangements.  Memorial gifts can be made in Dale’s honor to Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, 61115 State Road 15, Goshen, IN  46528 or to Child Evangelism, 14655 State Road 120, Bristol, IN 46507.
