Robert Barker Beeson, 82, of Goshen, died early Friday afternoon, August 1, 2008, at his home. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on August 20, 1925 to the late Benjamin Barker and Mildred (Bronson) Beeson. He married Harriett Wall on June 23, 1951, in West Lafayette, Indiana. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1995. An attorney in Goshen since 1951, Mr. Beeson served in the Navy during World War II. He attended DePauw University and graduated from Indiana University Law School. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Goshen. Mr. Beeson was a charter member of Maplecrest Country Club; he served on the Board of Directors of both the Salem Bank and Trust Company and the Greater Goshen Association. He was a director of the Rink Foundation and years ago was very involved with the Goshen Young Republicans. He is survived by two daughters, Angie (Donald) Koch of Apex, North Carolina, and Sarah Beeson of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and a brother, Ben (Marcella) Beeson of Brookfield, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Robert Bronson Beeson in 1998; and a brother, William Beeson in 1980. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 5 at the funeral home. An 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pamela Kling, Pastoral Assistant at First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, where military honors will be given for his years of military service. Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
