Rickie J. Compton, 63, of Goshen died November 19, 2023 in Fort Myers, Florida.

He was born January 12, 1960 in Sidney, Ohio to Floyd and Sandra (Gates) Compton. They preceded him in death.

He is survived by three children, LaTisha Compton, Natalie Compton and Chad (Nicole) Compton, all of Sidney, Ohio; and eleven grandchildren, Kaylee Minnick, Logan Spisak, Madison Schell, Atlanta Compton, Alyssa Gray, Mya Schell, Liam Schell, D'Angelo Rose, Mina Minnick, Elyana Phelps and Zoe Compton.

Other survivors include six siblings, Sharon (Steve) Swinehart of Goshen, Chester (Roxie) Compton of Sidney, Ohio, Carolyn Compton of Goshen, Susan Compton of Tennessee, Connie (Jerry) Akers Fort Myers, Florida, and Terry (Victoria) Compton of Elkhart.

Rickie was a skilled laborer, proficient in carpentry and electrical work. His last job was at Lippert as a laser machine operator producing precision trailer frames.

He was a former member of the Moose and Elks Lodge. Rickie enjoyed volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of Goshen and was always up for a karaoke sing along.

Rick loved his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He filled his words with his faith, giving the Lord his day-to-day problems. His faith led him to worship with multiple churches, such as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Trinity Holiness Tabernacle and The Church of God.

Visitation will be Friday, December 1, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Ken Johnson, cousin to Rickie, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
