Richard H. Torrance

Richard H. Torrance, 76, formerly of Goshen, died late Monday afternoon, April 9, 2007, at ValleyViewHealthcareCenter, Elkhart.   He was born on September 29, 1930, in Davenport, Iowa, to Richard P. and Orpha M. “Sally” (Sullivan) Torrance.  He married Lucille Y. Byler on August 10, 1957, in the GoshenCityChurch of the Brethren.  She survives.   A Goshen resident since 1945, Mr. Torrance worked as a quality control consultant for both Goshen Die Cutting and Gindor.  A member of the PrairieViewMissionaryChurch, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.   He is survived by his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Teresa A. (Jeffery) Martin of Elkhart; two sons, Tim E. (Bobbi) Torrance of Middlebury and Tyler N. (Cosette) Torrance of Goshen; and four grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally K. Torrance.   Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.   An 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at the PrairieViewMissionaryChurch, Goshen, with the Rev. Craig Lambright officiating.   Burial will be in OakridgeCemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to the PrairieViewMissionaryChurch or to Faith Mission, Elkhart.
