Richard Charles Smith

December 18, 1976 — July 4, 2022

Goshen

Richard Charles Smith, 45, of Goshen, died Monday, July 4, 2022, after a car accident.

He was born December 18, 1976, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jerry Lee and Ellen Kaye (Thomas) Smith.

They survive along with his children Alyssa Lynn (Jason Hardacre) Smith of Warsaw, and Michael Alan Joseph Smith of Goshen; a grandson, Maddox Ryley Hardacre of Warsaw; his fiancée, Christy Ratliff and her son James of Ligonier; a sister, Candice Ann (William Borntrager) Smith; four nephews and a grandmother, Ruth Leatherman of Goshen.

Richard worked his dream job assembling 3D printers for SeemeCNC in Ligonier where the coworkers were family.

Richard was a single Dad that took pride in his family. He took pride and appreciated all he had. He was kind, gentle, strong, brave, proud, and extremely creative.

Richard could be relied on whether you needed work done or needed a shoulder to lean on. He had the best advice, even if you didn't want it, or weren't going to take it. He needed to throw it out there, just in case.

Richard loved to fish and kayak with his friend Tom. Loved his friends as family.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home will assist the family with private services and cremation.

A public memorial service will be held at Siloam Fellowship, Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
