Richard E. Shepard, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his daughter’s home on the lake in LaGrange County.

He was born January 5, 1953, in Goshen to Clarence and Norma (Firestone) Shepard.

On September 1, 1972, he married Mary Honey in Goshen.

She survives along with two children, Tony E. (Kari) Shepard of Cromwell and Candy (Jeff) Slabaugh of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Clarissa (Austin) Henke, Khylin Shepard and Kaeclin Shepard; two great-grandchildren, Traeton and Broxton Henke; and four siblings, Kathy Anthony of Warsaw, Onny (Chuck) Stiver of Syracuse, Susie (Max) Hiser of Wolcottville and Paul Shepard of Goshen.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Shepard.

Mr. Shepard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and NASCAR.  He attended Grace Community Church.

Mr. Shepard worked in management in the RV manufacturing industry.

Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2023, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  An 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, funeral service will be held at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial donations may be given to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
