Richard Wayne Ralph

Richard W. Ralph, 79, of New Paris, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, March 7, 2013. He was born January 29, 1934 in Sears, Michigan, to John and Virginia (White) Ralph, Sr. He married Ruby M. Swinehart April 22, 1961, in Goshen. She survives along with a daughter, Barbara (James) Newswanger of Milford; a sister, Loraine (Julian) Thomas of Fenton, Michigan; and two brothers, James (Delores) Ralph of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and John (Sally) Ralph, Jr. of Sebring, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bonnie Axe. A 50 year New Paris resident, Mr. Ralph graduated from high school in Barryton, Michigan. He was well known as a longtime crop and cattle, both beef and dairy, farmer. He also enjoyed raising horses and was especially fond of Belgians and Clydesdales. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Stanley Godfrey, New Paris Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Burial will follow in New Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the New Paris Church of the Brethren.
